PORT STEPHENS BRAND POSITIONING & DESTINATION CAMPAIGN UPDATE
As outlined in our Partnership Prospectus for 2019, DPS is working on an exciting project to develop a new brand for Port Stephens to re-energise the destination, build appeal and motivate consumers to visit.
As it is vital that the brand for Port Stephens is genuine, authentic and conveys the unique Port Stephens offering, further work on the development and consumer testing is being undertaken to ensure that the best outcome is achieved. The new brand positioning and Port Stephens destination campaign are now on target to launch at the end of February to promote travel over the Autumn shoulder season.
To promote travel to Port Stephens over Spring, DPS in partnership with Destination NSW and industry partners have invested in a campaign with TripAdvisor. The campaign commenced on 9 September and will be in market until 9 November promoting key experiences and travel to Port Stephens.
NEW ZEALAND – DIRECT FLIGHTS FROM AUCKLAND
Newcastle Airport and Virgin Australia announced in late July 2019 a three-year partnership to continue flying direct services between the Hunter and Auckland. Virgin Australia will operate three return services per week from 21 November 2019 to 16 February 2020, with potential to grow over subsequent years.
