2018 Call for Nominations – Positions on the Board of Directors close on Friday, 19 October 2018
Members were sent communication on 4th October 2018 advising that nominations for the Board of Directors for Port Stephens Tourism, Trading as Destination Port Stephens, close on Friday 19th October.
Eligible persons wishing to stand for election to one of the three vacant Ordinary Director positions are required to return the Nomination Form with the signatures of the nominator and nominee and provide a statement of no more than 300 words, describing relevant skills and experience. Opportunity to apply for funding for events being held for the first or second time between January and June 2019.
The Destination NSW Regional Flagship Events Program includes an Incubator Event Fund to support the establishment of new events in Regional NSW. The Incubator Fund offers grants of up to $20,000 to events held in their first or second year as seed funding for activities that are likely to establish the event as a driver of visitation. These include, but are not limited to temporary event infrastructure; venue hire; marketing and promotions; marketing PR and digital consultancies; brand design and development; and attendee research.
An event may apply for any amount up to and including $20,000 but must be able to provide justification for the amount requested. Applications for Round One (events held between January – June 2019) close at midnight on Sunday, 4th November 2018. You can apply here.

Note: Applications for Round Two of the Incubator Event Fund for events taking place in July – December 2019 will open in 2019.
Small Business Month – Workshops and Events.
Port Stephen Council in partnership with the NSW Government is excited to deliver a series of events in the local area to help strengthen and grow business as part of Small Business Month. Reminder – Registration for the “Give Me Five” networking event closes on the 23rd October.
You are invited to join the team at the Port Stephens Visitor Information Centre and Destination Port Stephens to an innovative new networking event on Tuesday 30th October, 5.30 – 7.30pm. All you need to do is turn up with your top five selling points and we will give you the chance to introduce and update your product or experience.
