Love Sea Food Festival Weekend – this Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 August 2018
Come and meet the oyster growing families who have harvested the pristine waterways for generations, sample and buy the very best local oysters direct from the farmers of the sea. Among the Festival Fun will an oyster shucking show-down between local identities and the champions of oyster shucking; cooking demonstrations with the fresh local catch and a host of kids activities plus much more. Give your guests the program which can be DOWNLOADED here and send them down to D’ALBORA Marinas this weekend for all the fun.
Flights from Auckland to Newcastle commence on 22 November 2018
Announced on 18 July, Virgin Australia will commence seasonal direct services from Auckland to Newcastle on 22 November 2018. Virgin Australia will operate three return services per week (Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday) during the peak holiday period from 22 November 2018 to 17 February 2019. Destination Port Stephens is working with Newcastle Airport to promote these direct flights and travel to Port Stephens.
In partnership with Newcastle Airport, Newcastle Tourism and the Hunter Valley Wine Country Tourism, DPS will visit New Zealand in September to meet with key selling agents, attend the Flight Centre Expo and undertake agent training on Port Stephens. Marketing programs are also being developed with key travel trade partners which will feature Port Stephens.
Digital Campaign Update
The Port Stephens Digital Campaign commenced in late July and will be in market until September primarily targeting Sydney and surrounds to increase awareness and build appeal of Port Stephens as well as to drive visitors to our pristine destination. To date visitation to the website has increased by 47% and booking revenue has increased by 36% in comparison to the same time last year.
Farmers Relief Charity Weekend Saturday 8 – Sunday 9 September
Here in Port Stephens we are well-known for coming together to support those in need, and right now our NSW farmers need our help. Port Stephens sporting clubs are partnering with Port Stephens Council and the local community to provide relief to our farmers who are currently experiencing crippling drought throughout rural NSW.
Over the weekend of the 8 – 9 September, sporting clubs across Port Stephens will be hosting a range of fundraising events to support this cause and we are seeking support from our members to help raise funds – there are lots of ways we can all help. Here are just a few!
- Donation of a prize for use in fundraising over the charity weekend, please email email@example.com with details.
- Cash donations to the Port Stephens Farmers Relief Charity Weekend (see www.portstephens.org.au/farmersrelief for more details)
- Pulling together a group of your staff, clients, family and friends to attend the charity events over the weekend
