Although the Chamber would like the Bluewater Country Music Festival to proceed this year we have inadequate resources to organise and fund the event. Last year the Chamber needed to inject considerable funds even though the event was conducted by volunteers. We believe this event has strong economic benefits for our area but a new approach to the management and funding of this festival is required. We also know that there is the expectation from locals and visitors that there will be Country Music on that weekend.
We therefore ENCOURAGE VENUES TO CONTINUE with Country Music on the June Long weekend under the banner of the Bluewater Country Music Weekend brand.
- We will arrange for the Bluewater Country Music website to be updated and promote the weekend as the ‘Bluewater Country Music Weekend in Port Stephens”
- We will consider circulating a Program closer to that weekend [8th to 11th June 2018] once venues have advised their “GIGS” but of course we won’t promote gigs that are not Country Music.
We apologise, but unfortunately we do not have the human or financial resources to conduct the event this year. The Board will reconsider next year.
We also encourage the Bluewater Branding to be used, provided it relates to Country Music gigs.
Please let us know if you plan to have Country Music on that weekend. We do of course have a data base of Country Music Artists if required by any venues.
